Register as a restaurant
To get the most from Can I Eat There, please register here and create a profile. It’s a good idea to personalise your profile by uploading an image of your restaurant, so that when you reply to customer reviews they will see your logo or restaurant.

Make your restaurant name and details appear in your profile
If your personal details are not displaying on your profile page, or your user name is not displaying when you respond to a review, this means you haven’t verified your account at the time of set up. Have a look in your inbox for an email from Can I Eat There? (you may want to check your spam or junk folder). In the email is an account activation link. Click the link and that’s it – you’re done! Your details will appear in your profile and on your reviews. Can’t find the activation email? and we’ll resend it.

Change or update your allergy policy or restaurant description
Once you have logged in, click on Profile in the top right hand corner. Next, click on View my locations, then Manage on the right hand side of the page. This takes you to “Restaurant details and manage menus”. To alter your policy, scroll down the page and type your new policy in the Allergy Policy text box. To alter your restaurant description, scroll down the page and enter new text in the Restaurant Description text box. Every time you make changes, make sure you click the Update Details button at the bottom of the page. Upload new restaurant locations to your profile
You should have received a Locations.csv file by email when you first set up your restaurant profile. If you don’t have this please to receive a new file. To upload a new restaurant you will need to complete the csv. Make sure you’ve filled in all the columns and then save the file as a Windows Comma Separated (.csv NOT .xls) onto your computer. When you’re ready to upload the csv, click Upload, browse and select the csv file and then click Upload. This may take up to 60 seconds to load, so don’t refresh in that time. Every time you make changes, make sure you click the Update Details button at the bottom of the page. Manage existing restaurant locations
Log in to your profile using your restaurant username and password. Click on Profile. Once you can see your personal profile, click View My Locations to view your restaurant details and menus. You should now see all your restaurant location(s). Click Manage to update each restaurant’s details. To preview what your customers see, click the restaurant name. Every time you make changes, make sure you click the Update Details button at the bottom of the page. Update location and menu details in your restaurant profile
In your restaurant profile, click Locations, choose your restaurant by clicking Manage and then click on the Restaurant Details tab to view and update your restaurant listings. If you’d like to add or edit your images please email us at . To manage your menus click the Manage Menus tab. To change, click Edit next to the menu item and follow the prompts either selecting/deselecting allergens or deleting the item by clicking Delete. Upload a new menu to your restaurant profile
You should have received a Menu.csv file by email, when you first set up your restaurant profile. If you don’t have this, please to receive a new file. To upload a new restaurant you will need to complete the csv. Make sure you’ve filled in all the columns and then save the file as a Windows Comma Separated (.csv NOT .xls) onto your computer. When you’re ready to upload the csv, click Upload, browse and select the csv file and then click Upload. Once uploaded, you’ll need to click Enable Menu and choose a date the menus are valid from. Once uploaded click Recalculate Menu to ensure your allergen tallies are displayed correctly on your profile. Every time you make changes, make sure you click the Update Details button at the bottom of the page. To show your customers that you not only take food allergy seriously, but offer a ‘gold standard’ service for those with allergies and intolerances, join the Allergy Aware Scheme. Register as a diner
To get the most from Can I Eat There? please register and create a profile. This means you’ll be able to save your allergy preferences, leave restaurant reviews and more. Click Register in the top right of the navigation bar or Join now on the home page, and fill in all your details. Add your favourite photo, and tick ‘Yes, I’d like to receive newsletters and emails from Can I Eat There?’ so that we can keep you up to date with the latest restaurants and offers, plus news from our allergy experts. Then choose a password, read our Terms of use and click Create account. We’ll send you an email to confirm your registration and once you’ve clicked on the activation link in that email, that’s it – you’re done!

Update your diner profile
You can update your profile, or change your password, photo or allergy preferences at any time. Click the Profile button in the top right of the navigation bar, update any fields you want to change, and click Update account. Easy.

Receive Can I Eat There? newsletters
If you forgot to click ‘Yes, I’d like to receive newsletters and emails from Can I Eat There?’ when you registered, or if you haven’t registered yet but want to receive our newsletter, then scroll down to the yellow footer bar and you’ll find an invitation to subscribe. Enter your email address and we’ll send you our newsletter every month, with the latest allergy news and updates from our experts, notifications of the latest restaurants, and some great special offers.

Write a restaurant review
Your reviews help other people with food allergies work out which restaurants are the best for free-from dining, so please review every restaurant you eat at! Please make your review as detailed and as allergy-focused as possible – and of course, please make your comments useful and constructive (abusive reviews will be removed). Click Review this restaurant in the restaurant information page, or if you find a good restaurant that’s not on our database, click Share it on the home page and give us the details. We’ll add them to our database and let you know when they are loaded, so you can leave a review. Every month, one lucky restaurant reviewer wins a free-from hamper – it could be you!

Suggest a restaurant that isn't on our database
To tell us about a restaurant that’s not on our database, go to the section immediately under our banner and intro on the home page: Discovered an allergy-friendly restaurant that’s not in our directory? Click Share it, fill in all fields and click Send. We’ll get in touch with the restaurant, get their allergy menu and/or allergy policy and include them on our database – then let you know when they are loaded so you can leave a review. Can I Eat There? wouldn’t work without our amazing Allergy Ambassadors, spread across the UK, tasked with encouraging restaurants to sign up, organising support groups in their local areas – and of course regularly reviewing restaurants. Our Ambassadors range from foodies and food bloggers to parents of allergic children, partners of allergic adults and of course people living with food allergies, intolerances and coeliac disease themselves.
